Coast Campground sits on a bluff just above Santa Maria Beach, offering stunning ocean views and direct beach access. The hike follows the Coast Trail from the South Beach/Palormarin parking lot, winding through coastal scrub with frequent glimpses of the ocean. The trail can be windy and exposed — arrive prepared.

How to Get There
- Start at Palomarin Trailhead (South Beach parking lot). Parking is available, but arrive early on weekends — lots fill by 9 AM.
- Follow the trail for 1.5 miles (280 ft elevation gain). The trail takes approximately 1 to 2 hours depending on pace and pack weight.
- Check in at the campground. There is no ranger station at the site — self-register upon arrival.
